Weekend fun

Last weekend my mother visited me & we had so much fun putting together a new quilt top with Moda's Marmalade fabric.  She wanted a very simple pattern to make quickly together, and she loves the floral patterns of the Marmalade line.

It was great to relax & chat while working together.
Here is the finished quilt top:

As for me, I was just happy that my new hanging ruler organizer arrived.  Finally, my rulers are organized and off my counter!  :-)

And, the comic book backer boards I ordered arrived, so I started organizing my stash.  I think this is a great way to organize the fabric...though to be honest anything beats the bins-of-folded-fabric method of organization I previously used!

Now, back to my next project...something to do with Moda's new Seascapes line from Deb Strain!

I just love this line! :-)

Just do it

There is something so exciting about starting something new!  Especially if it's been a long time coming!

I grew up believing that I could do anything.  My mother instilled in me the belief that there was nothing in this world I wasn't capable of achieving so long as I tried and did my best.  So often I hear from friends that they wish they could learn how to do something...and I never understand why they don't simply try.  Maybe you won't be that great at it, or maybe it won't be as much fun as you thought it would be...but you'll be able to say you gave it a go.  I love believing in myself and what I can do, and I am so thankful that my mother gave me the courage to be who I am today.
